Clinical Journey

I am an accredited acupuncturist and a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS), having completed my formal training in September 2022. To enhance my practice, I also undertook further training in Electroacupuncture in March 2025. Alongside my acupuncture work, I have been working as a GP since 2006 and currently serve as a part-time GP partner in the Worksop area. My passion for supporting patients living with pain led me to complete an MSc in Pain Management at Cardiff University in 2017.

My Ethos

Throughout my career as a GP, I have cared for many patients whose pain persists despite conventional treatments and complex medication regimens. These medications often carry significant side effects and the risk of addiction, yet many people are still left struggling with debilitating pain that limits their ability to enjoy the activities they value most.

I believe there is good evidence that acupuncture can offer an effective alternative for some of these patients, helping to reduce pain and improve quality of life. My approach integrates my medical background and knowledge with acupuncture, aiming to offer patients a holistic and personalised path towards better health.

About Acupuncture

Personalised medical acupuncture helps your body reset its own healing responses. Instead of one-size-fits-all protocols, each session is tailored to your symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. Many people leave feeling calmer, less tense, and more balanced. While results vary, treatment aims to reduce pain and support both physical and emotional well-being.

What Is Medical Acupuncture?

  2. Needle insertion; may include gentle manual stimulation or low-frequency electrical currents.
  3. Short rest, followed by review and next steps.

How it works

From a scientific perspective, acupuncture works by stimulating nerves in the skin and muscle tissue. This stimulation prompts the body to release natural pain-relieving chemicals like endorphins and serotonin, altering how pain signals are processed in the brain and spinal cord.

Conditions We Treat

Acupuncture can help ease fatigue and improve overall well-being by modulating pain signals and inducing deep relaxation, but also specifically helps with the targeted conditions shown below:
